Single Action Airbrush

A single action airbrush, also called a single airbrush, is the simplest airbrush. It works with a single action mechanism. The depression of a single trigger makes the paint and air flow into the airbrush body. Then the atomized paint is sprayed onto the target surface. Cheaper airbrushes and spray guns tend to belong to sing action airbrushes.
To operate a single action airbrush only requires depressing the trigger to releases a fixed ratio of paint to air. This is single action airbrush technique. Different line widths can be achieved either by changing the tip and nozzle combination or by manually adjusting the spray volume between spray width changes. For proper single action airbrush technique, the most important point is to keep the trigger be depressed before the hand moving and keep the trigger be released after the hand moving, which can avoid the bar bell line.

For single action airbrushes, the trigger simply turns the air on and off. The liquid is sucked up from the jar by Venturi action of the air passing over the outlet of the cup. The amount of paint flow is adjusted by screwing the Venturi nozzle into or out of the air flow. Single action airbrushes do not work to the very fine limits of double action airbrushes, but its simple design and light weight make it an excellent type for beginners.
